Tonight I tasted the Bin 515 Shiraz Viognier. It is a newer release from Wyndham Estates, whose Bin 444 Cab Sav and Bin 555 Shiraz have been old reliables for me over the past few years. Now, I must admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for Shiraz Viognier blends in general... I just find them to have a very smooth and drinkable quality that makes them hold up well on there own. This wine is no different. At a reasonable $17 a bottle, is great value for casual weekday drinking. The Viognier helps ease the otherwise bold Shiraz grapes and adds a pleasant complexity to the wine. Well balanced and generally just yummy, this is bound to be a crowd pleaser.
